Feddanhill Woods - An Invitation

Feddanhill Woods - An Invitation

Added at 15:36 on 29 October 2025

Thinking about a brisk winter's walk?  Did you know that although Feddanhill Wood is privately owned, visits from responsible members of the public are very welcome?  The wood is on the right as you leave Fortrose along Church Street travelling uphill towards Broomhill (look out for a wooden sign on the right; there is a small car park immediately on the left after you turn in).  There is a display board near the entrance with wildlife and plant information, and a netweork of paths running across the woodland.  The site has been a labour of love for owner Graham Tuley for more than 30 years and in that time he has welcomed ramblers, runners, dog walkers, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Guides as well as families celebrating children's birthdays with an outdoor party.  All he asks for is that the area is used responsibly, with rubbish and dog mess, for example, being taken home.  He is happy to talk to visitors about how he maintains and regenerates the woodland and is often on site, but if you would like to visit and have a chat, FRCC can put you in touch.
