Black Isle organisations

There are many organisations across the Black Isle, serving residents and visitors. Here's a brief guide to some of them.

If you are involved in an organisation and would like to be listed here, please contact us with a short description and your website or contact information.

Black Isle Cares (BIC): is a small charity with a big impact. They work to address loneliness and social isolation through community services and partnership working. They run a Meals at Home service and a Befriending Service, and organise a community garden project, the Sharing Shed and intergenerational activities with the local schools.

Black Isle Men's Shed (BIMS): promotes the general wellbeing of its members through social engagement with the community and personal activities. They undertake both personal and community projects (for example, the refurbishment of the St Andrew's steps).

Black Isle Need to Play: provides financial assistance for children and young people with extra needs.

Cycling Without Age Scotland: or... our Trishaws! Trishaw rides are available, free of charge, to anyone of any age with mobility challenges or living with loneliness or isolation. Locally, you'll find them here.

Raddery House is a not-for-profit company set up to support those with dementia in the Black Isle, and their carers. They have purchased Raddery House and grounds from Highland Council and are fundraising to make their goal a reality.

Regenerate Our Green Space (ROGS): a volunteer organisation based in Fortrose & Rosemarkie aiming to create places which are useful and beautiful green spaces that are inclusive for people and wildlife, while encouraging a strong community spirit.

Rosemarkie Amenities Association (RAA): best known for running the Beach Cafe in Rosemarkie, RAA is responsible for the adjacent playing field, play area and promenade. RAA also helps to look after the local area (shoreline, Fairy Glen and footpaths) and runs popular events such as the annual Bonfire Night.

Rosemarkie And Fortrose Trust (RAFT): although RAFT has wider aims, its primary responsibility at present is to look after the public toilets in Fortrose and Rosemarkie.
