BEACH CLEAN 28th Sept
Added at 15:09 on 23 September 2025
Our next Beach Clean and Marine Litter Survey will be on SUNDAY 28th SEPTEMBER from 0930 to 1130am, meeting at Rosemarkie Beach Cafe. Volunteers are keenly sought! For those of you who have helped before, you will know that the most common item of rubbish found along the seashore is a cigarette butt. Many people don't seem to know that these are NOT biodegradable and take more than ten years to disintegrate, leaving plastic and chemical residue which damages the environment and harms wildlife. Purpose-designed "butt boxes" are dotted along posts and lamposts along the beach and up to Chanonry Point, installed by the Community Council. We are very grateful to two of our Young Councillors, Katie and Diana, for volunteering to empty them on a regular basis.
