26 June 2024THANK YOU!

Thank you to all those who came to our Senior's Afternoon "Strawberry Tea" at the Gordon Memorial Hall this week. Thank you also to the volunteers who came to help, including pupils from Fortrose Academy and to the Trishaw team who helped ferry customers, and last but by no means least, to the excellent Wall2Wall Fiddle who provided the entertainment!

14 June 2024Seniors' Afternoon Tea - 2pm Tuesday 25th June 2024

Seniors' Afternoon Tea

If you are an older resident in Fortrose or Rosemarkie, or perhaps know someone who is, Fortrose and Rosemarkie Community Council is delighted to invite you to a "Seniors' Afternoon Tea" with refreshments, sweet treats and musical entertainment, in the Gordon Memorial Hall Rosemarkie from 2pm on Tuesday, 25th June.

There is no charge!

If you, or someone you know, would like to come along, do email us at fortroseandrosemarkie@gmail.com OR sign up at Rosemarkie SPAR or the Cromarty Bakery in Fortrose so we can estimate numbers.  (It would also be helpful if you could let us know of any special dietary requirements and if transport is required.)

26 May 2024Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust

Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust (RAFT), the charitable trust which runs the community toilets in the two villages, was founded in 2019.  Its objectives are to identify projects of benefit to our community, and to seek out funding to resource them.  (NOTE the Community Council does not have charitable or limited company status and that makes it difficult for it to apply for large grants to undertake projects with significant financial implications.)  RAFT is now seeking new trustees to continue its work.  The current trustees' latest report is here.

If you would like to become a trustee, you can contact RAFT via its Facebook page, or drop FRCC an email and we will pass your details on.

26 April 2024Feddon Hill play park survey

Do you live at Feddon Hill?  Do you know there is a rather neglected children's play park there that was gifted to the residents by the estate developer (and therefore isn't Highland Council's responsibility)?  What would you like to happen to it, and would you like to get involved in some way?  Perhaps you'd like the play equipment restored or for the seating to be improved and the planting made more attractive. The Community Council would be happy to link up and support residents keen to take on the challenge. Email us at fortroseandrosemarkie@gmail.com OR text/leave a voice message on 07498 431476
