20 July 2024St Boniface Fair - Saturday 3rd August!

Residents and visitors alike are invited to this year's St Boniface Fair on Saturday 3rd August.  Named after a saint who is thought to have founded the first church in Rosemarkie, the event is a re-imagined version of our burgh fair from the 18th Century. Stall-holders will be dressed appropriately!  The procession starts in Cathedral Square at 12.45pm with stalls selling local products and crafts open from 1pm.  Musicians, jugglers, stilt-walkers and spinners will provide the entertainment, with refreshments available.  The fair will close at 4pm.  Money raised will go towards local projects.

26 June 2024THANK YOU!

Thank you to all those who came to our Senior's Afternoon "Strawberry Tea" at the Gordon Memorial Hall this week. Thank you also to the volunteers who came to help, including pupils from Fortrose Academy and to the Trishaw team who helped ferry customers, and last but by no means least, to the excellent Wall2Wall Fiddle who provided the entertainment!

Seniors' Afternoon Tea

If you are an older resident in Fortrose or Rosemarkie, or perhaps know someone who is, Fortrose and Rosemarkie Community Council is delighted to invite you to a "Seniors' Afternoon Tea" with refreshments, sweet treats and musical entertainment, in the Gordon Memorial Hall Rosemarkie from 2pm on Tuesday, 25th June.

There is no charge!

If you, or someone you know, would like to come along, do email us at fortroseandrosemarkie@gmail.com OR sign up at Rosemarkie SPAR or the Cromarty Bakery in Fortrose so we can estimate numbers.  (It would also be helpful if you could let us know of any special dietary requirements and if transport is required.)

26 May 2024Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust

Rosemarkie and Fortrose Trust (RAFT), the charitable trust which runs the community toilets in the two villages, was founded in 2019.  Its objectives are to identify projects of benefit to our community, and to seek out funding to resource them.  (NOTE the Community Council does not have charitable or limited company status and that makes it difficult for it to apply for large grants to undertake projects with significant financial implications.)  RAFT is now seeking new trustees to continue its work.  The current trustees' latest report is here.

If you would like to become a trustee, you can contact RAFT via its Facebook page, or drop FRCC an email and we will pass your details on.
