A native of Inverness, I have lived in Fortrose for 9 years, and for 30 years prior to that in Avoch, where I based my architectural practice. Married, with two grown up sons, former pupils of Fortrose Academy. I served as the first chairman of Fortrose Academy school board. Now semi-retired and working from home, I am keen to contribute to the efforts of the Community Council, using my knowledge and experience.

Educated at Inverness Royal Academy and the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Aberdeen. I set up my own architectural practice in 1982, and had an office in Avoch until 2000, when the practice was relocated to Inverness, until 2015.

My main recreational activity is traditional Scottish fiddle music, and I am involved with several groups including leading the Inverness Fiddlers’ Society. Sporting activities include hillwalking (completed the Munros in 2000), skiing, and sailing (served two terms as commodore of Chanonry Sailing Club). I am also on the committee of the Rosemarkie Allotments and Gardens Society
