I have lived on the Black Isle for 15 years with my partner and daughter. Like many, we enjoy the many community initiatives that only happen because of the efforts of committed volunteers.
Having volunteered during my daughter's pre-school and primary years, I welcomed the opportunity to serve the community again as a member of the Community Council and hope to secure your vote to continue.
I work at Fortrose Academy in the learning support department. I am also a (volunteer) committee member of Highland Young Musicians. A focus on young people in our community would therefore be a personal priority.
Before moving to Scotland I worked in business and politics so have proven organisational and enterprising skills as well as an ability to engage with people at all levels.
I hope my experience, skills and perspective will have a positive impact on the work of the Community Council on its effectiveness and on raising its profile.
For the record, I am a Labour Party member but in this role I would naturally put community interests ahead of any personal political affiliation.
