I moved from Glasgow to Fortrose in 2001. Married with three grown-up children. Mathematics graduate of Glasgow University. Director of Trust and Estate Management company and principal of Independent Financial Advisers firm. Previously nine years on the executive board of a Scottish New Town, and before then a journalist and a soldier.
I believe much more is needed for our villages than just houses. All new housing must have employment, education, shops, health-and-care facilities, recreation and in advance the essential infrastructure. This needs a strong Community Council to fight for what the residents want and to do this often in opposition to developers and to short-sighted planners.
